In short: we collect only what we need to sell and deliver chairs, we never sell your data, and you can ask us to show, correct or delete what we hold about you at any time.
Who We Are
SKINNYZ is a furniture design company based in Tel Aviv, Israel. We design and sell folding chairs through this website, and we are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. If you have any question about how we handle your information, write to info@skinnyz.net and a person — not a bot — will answer you.
The Information We Collect
Information you give us
- Contact details — your name, email address and phone number, supplied when you place an order, open an account or send us a message.
- Order details — the products you buy, the delivery address, your order history and any notes you add to an order.
- Messages — the content of emails, contact-form submissions and support conversations you have with us.
- Reviews and photos — anything you choose to submit for publication on our site, such as a review or a photo of your chairs.
Information collected automatically
- Device and browser data — browser type and version, screen size, operating system and language.
- Usage data — the pages you visit, how long you spend on them and the links you click, collected through analytics.
- Technical data — your IP address and the approximate region it points to, used for security, fraud prevention and to show you the right language and currency.
Information we receive from others
- Payment confirmation — our payment provider tells us whether a payment succeeded, together with a transaction reference. We never receive or store your full card number; that stays with the certified payment provider.
- Delivery updates — our shipping partners report the status of your parcel so we can keep your order page accurate.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Process your order, take payment and deliver your chairs.
- Send order confirmations, delivery updates and, where relevant, warranty or returns communication.
- Answer your questions and provide customer support.
- Improve our products, our website and the way we describe them.
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse and misuse of the site.
- Send you marketing emails — but only if you have asked for them.
- Meet our legal and accounting obligations, including tax records for sales.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not use it to make automated decisions that have a legal effect on you.
The Legal Bases We Rely On
Where the General Data Protection Regulation applies, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract — to take your order, deliver it and handle returns or warranty claims.
- Legitimate interests — to keep the site secure, prevent fraud and improve our products, balanced against your rights.
- Consent — for marketing emails and non-essential cookies, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Legal obligation — to keep sales and tax records for the periods the law requires.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
Essential cookies
These keep the site working: remembering your basket, keeping you signed in and protecting forms against abuse. The site cannot function correctly without them.
Analytics cookies
These tell us which pages are read and which are ignored, so we can fix what does not work. The data is aggregated, and we use it to understand the site as a whole rather than to follow individual visitors.
Managing cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site — the basket and checkout, for example — from working.
Who We Share Your Information With
We share personal information only with the companies that help us run the shop, and only the minimum each of them needs:
- Payment processors, to take payment securely. They are certified to the PCI-DSS standard.
- Shipping carriers and couriers, to deliver your order and provide tracking.
- Analytics and hosting providers, who process aggregated or technical data on our behalf under contract.
- Professional advisers, such as accountants, where the law requires records to be kept.
We may also disclose information where we are legally required to do so, or where it is necessary to protect our rights, our customers or the public. If our business is ever sold or merged, customer records may transfer as part of that transaction; the policy in force at the time would continue to apply to your data.
International Transfers
Some of the service providers we work with process data outside Israel and the European Economic Area. When that happens, we rely on recognised safeguards — standard contractual clauses or an equivalent mechanism — so your information keeps the same protection it would have at home.
How Long We Keep Your Information
- Order and invoice records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
- Support conversations are kept for a reasonable period so we can pick up where we left off if you come back with a related question.
- Marketing subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe, after which we keep only a suppression record so we do not contact you again by mistake.
- Analytics data is kept in aggregated form and does not identify you.
When information is no longer needed, we delete it or anonymise it.
How We Protect Your Information
We use industry-standard encryption in transit, restrict access to customer data to the people who need it to do their job, and keep our systems and dependencies up to date. Payments are processed by certified PCI-DSS compliant providers, so card data never touches our servers.
No system is perfect. If a breach ever affects your rights, we will notify you and the relevant authority as required by law, without waiting for you to ask.
Your Rights
Access, correction and deletion
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct anything inaccurate, and ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Write to info@skinnyz.net and we will respond within the period the applicable law allows.
Marketing and unsubscribing
Every marketing email we send contains an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing removes you from marketing immediately; you will still receive order and delivery messages, because those are part of the purchase you made.
Objecting and restricting
You can object to processing based on our legitimate interests, or ask us to restrict how we use your information while a question is resolved.
Complaints
If you believe we have handled your information badly, contact us first — most things are resolved in one email. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Children's Privacy
Our products are sold to adults, and this site is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their details, contact us and we will delete them.
Third-Party Links
Our site and articles link to other websites, including marketplaces where our products are sold. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and this one does not cover them. We encourage you to read the policy of any site that asks you for personal information.
Changes to This Policy
We update this policy when our practices or the law change. The version published on this page is always the current one, and the date at the top of the page shows when it was last revised. If a change is significant, we will tell registered customers by email.
Contact Us
For anything in this policy — a question, a request to see your data, a deletion request or a complaint — write to info@skinnyz.net. Mention "privacy request" in the subject line and we will route it straight to the person responsible.
